Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, the highest five star resort in the middle east on the curving rim of a great canyon, is a secluded haven for the intrepid and discerning. 21 km from Nizwa, the resort features panoramic views from the cliff-edge infinity pool. Guests can enjoy free WiFi throughout the property.

A total of 115 luxury rooms and villas overlook either the dramatic canyon or tranquil gardens and a spa-like bathroom complete with a rain shower. Please note that in order to access the resort, guests will need a 4x4 (4-wheel drive) vehicle to pass by the checkpoint for Al Jabal Al Akhdar. Guest must also bring their driver's licence and car registration papers. If you require transfers, 72 hours advance booking is required.

Please note that there will be compulsory New Years Eve Gala Dinner supplements of OMR 150 per adult and OMR 75 per child for the stays over 31 December.

Please note during Ramadan period alcohol will be served only in Bella Vista from 19:00pm to 23:45pm (indoor only). First two days of Eid holidays will be dry days and alcohol will not be served.

Please note, that there is a compulsory Christmas Eve Dinner on the 24 December, available for all resort guests booked over this date. Price starting from OMR 35 per adult, children aged 5 - 11 years will be charged from OMR 17.5 per child. Price is inclusive of applicable service charges, local fees and taxes.

fleeting pit stop in the mountains

The services work very well and the staff was very welcoming and kind

The structure is not completely integrated with the mountain, in fact it seems like a squalid barracks to accommodate displaced people. Luckily we upgraded our room and chose a cute villa with private pool and canyon views.

Everything was wonderful, the hotel is an experience. Definitely a place you must visit

The ideal getaway and switch off. With views to cherish.

Staff at the Italian resteraunt and breakfast bar were super friendly. We had some good discussions. It's great to get to know the people behind the scenes. They created a truly romantic setting for me and my fiancé (we didn't ask) for our dinner with extra treats.

Some of the customers were a little rude to staff who have been extra helpful and accommodating.

Stunning location.

Stunning location. Beautiful rooms. Staff very friendly and attentive. Great fitness center and facilities eg steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Delicious breakfast and dinner.

Every activity came with a charge. A complimentary yoga class for each guest would be a great thing for the hotel to consider.

A most rejuvenating break in an amazing resort with stunning scenery.

The resort is top notch in every respect. The view is amazing, the staff are very well trained and helpful, lovely pool, great restaurants, well-equipped fitness centre, fabulous spa. Also - we went on the 3 village walk (hike!) which had stunning scenery and was an intensive work-out. And noticeably cooler than Muscat!

I honestly can't think of anything that I didn't like.

Unforgettable break in one of the best hotel ever seen in life.

The staff was very helpful, respectful and give full support. Mr. Ahmed AlMawali in the concierge was really special, helpful, explained the area, follow up with me with for the car issue I have. He managed to make me enjoying my time and forget my car issue. Thanks a lot Ahmed and all the staff in Anantara The private pool was really nice and truly private. I recommend everyone to visit the hotel and enjoy at least one special night.

· 2 days are more than enough. It gets really boring after that . It’s the time when hotel tries to suck the money out of you . Everything is overly priced for Oman . Example a 30 min trip to a near location is 170 Omani riyals .. a massage is 100 Omani riyal .. hiking is minimum 50 Omani riyal per person . Staff didn’t mention slippers were not appropriate for a visit to near villages which are a walking distance away

A memorable memory for life.

Staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly especially Khalid at the reception. The resort is so beautiful and relaxing. I had the opportunity to experience the nature by watching goats passing by, drinking from pool water and saying hello. The birds flying around and singing. Various fruit trees were there including pomegranates, apples, lemon and nabaq. in addition to the roses all along the passages. I stayed in the cliff pool villa that was eventually a piece of elegant art cannot describe the beauty of that room with all its amenities and consumables. The pool .. I am speechless!!

I liked the stuff and the service.

I liked the stuff and the service. The sarvice guy Rajib was excellent performer in arranging for the party.

All is good only thing was the lock of the bedroom and the sitting hall door was not locking. Why the Half board meal that was included with the room was not having any drinks??

it was a wonderful experience for both of us, the weather on...

it was a wonderful experience for both of us, the weather on the mountain was great less by almost 10 to 13 degrees than muscat. The resort was fascinating with its structure, facilities and activities. the staff were very helpful and friendly especially Yasser our villa host and Maher our climbing guide from the recreation centre. As for the food our reservation included a half-board and both of them were very good.
